she/her

Denise studied to be a Structural Integrator at the Soma Institute of Structural Integration in 2007.  Shortly after graduation, she interned for a year with Soma’s then Director, Karen Bolesky. Karen was not only a Structural Integrator but a psychotherapist, mental health counselor with an in-depth experience in psychological and somatic training. They worked in tandem with clients and dived into the heart of structural psychosomatic work. Denise’s time with Karen dove into self-awareness, emotional unpacking, group explorations, and trauma work. Denise was a lead instructor at Soma for 14 years teaching a range of classes: Structural Integration, anatomy & physiology, kinesiology, pathology, and psychology being the primary. She also had the wonderful opportunity to be a guest pathology teacher for the former Guild for Structural Integration.

Due to her own pelvic health, Denise took her experience and education and created an external pelvic floor manual therapy program, “Reclaiming the Pelvic Floor”. She has traveled the world teaching this program to help spread pelvic floor dysfunction awareness and trauma informed work.

In helping to advance the profession of Structural Integration, Denise volunteers to the International Association of Structural Integration® (IASI). She’s held multiple positions over the past 13 years from President, Vice President, member of the Board of Director,  law and legislation, and current role is Chair of the Education Committee where she helped develop educational standards for Structural Integration  programs.

Denise is also a published author.
